Hummingbird Nectar Cooking Directions;
DO NOT use a sweeter hummingbird nectar mixture - this may harm the birds.
DO NOT substitute honey for the sugar in the hummingbird nectar.
DO NOT add any dye or coloring to the hummingbird nectar mixture, as it is not necessary. The color of the hummingbird feeder will attract the hummingbirds.
How to prepare the hummingbird nectar
4 cups water
1 cup sugar
In a large sauce pan, bring water to a boil, stir in sugar. Stirring until the sugar is dissolved completely. Set the hummingbird nectar aside to cool before filling your hummingbird feeders.
Store any extra hummingbird nectar in a jar in the refrigerator.
Before refilling the feeders rinse with warm water
