2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoons salt
3/4 cups whole milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups sugar
3/4 cups butter or margarine, softened
3 large eggs
Preheat oven. Spray cake pan with cooking spray. Dust cake pans with flour.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. In a cup, mix milk and vanilla; set aside.
In large bowl, with mixer at low speed, beat sugar and butter just until blended. Increase speed to high; beat 3 minutes longer or until creamy, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Reduce speed to low; add 1 eggs at a time, beating well after each addition.
Beat in flour mixture alternately with milk mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture just until blended, scraping bowl occasionally.
Pour cake batter into prepared cake pan. Bake cake for the allotted time or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Cool cake on a wire rack 10 minutes. With a knife, loosen side of the cakes from pans; invert onto wire rack to cool cake completely.
