Sweet Country Corn Bread Recipe

Corn Bread Recipe

Pan size: 8 x 8 or a 11 x 7 baking dish
Temp: 400°F or 200°C
Cooking time: 20 to 25 minutes
Servings: 6

Corn Bread Baking Directions

Sweet Country Corn Bread
1 cup milk
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 egg
1 1/4 cups yellow, white or blue cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat your oven. Grease or spray with cooking spray the bottom and sides of the baking dish.

In a large bowl, beat milk, butter and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients all at once just until flour is moistened (the corn bread batter will be lumpy). Pour corn bread batter into your baking dish.

Bake corn bread for the allotted time or until the corn bread is golden brown use a toothpick inserted in the center of the corn bread comes out clean.
