Egg Nog Recipe

For a great Christmas gift, fill a new punch bowl with all the Egg Nog ingredients. Attach a card on the ladle with the instructions for preparing the Egg Nog.
10 eggs, separated
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 quart milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup brandy
1 cup light rum
nutmeg
In a large bowl, beat egg yolks until foamy. Add sugar; continue beating until mixture is lemon-colored. Stir in milk and cream.
In a separate bowl and clean beaters, beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually beat in vanilla, then brandy and rum. Fold into milk mixture. Pour Egg Nog into a punch bowl or large serving bowl, sprinkle with nutmeg. Ladle Egg Nog into mugs and sprinkle with nutmeg.
