Hard Boiled Eggs Cooking Directions:
Minimize the chance of having a harmless but unattractive green ring form around the egg yolk by not over cooking eggs.
6 large eggs
Place eggs in a large sauce pan. Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by at least 1 inch. Bring eggs to a rapid boil over high heat {water will have large, rapidly breaking bubbles}. Boil eggs for 6 minutes, remove eggs from heat, cover, and let stand for 5 minutes; drain of hot water.
Run cold water over the eggs or place then in ice water until cool enough to handle; drain
To peel a hard cooked egg, gently tap the egg on the countertop, then roll it between the palms of your hands. Peel off the eggshell, starting at the large end. Rinse eggs to remove any egg shell.
Cut hard boiled eggs and use them in your favorite recipe or store in an air tight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
